fiction - LPF week 1 - "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up"
It is with enormous pleasure and satisfaction that I present to you this second collection of short stories by renowned author Wilfred Fenkham. Surely you are already familiar with Mr. Fenkham and his work, and hopefully you have read his previous collection of stories. Possibly you even managed to get ahold of the edition featuring my introduction before it was recalled by the publishers and burned, and you already know the depths of my appreciation and regard for Mr. Fenkham and his work, and the extraordinary lengths I went to in order to provide the introduction to that first magnificent tome.
Well, let me tell you, that was nothing compared to what I had to do in order to provide you with this introduction. There were a lot of people who didn't want me talking to you this way again - people like publishers, lawyers, various law enforcement agencies, certain fan organizations, and, I'm sad to say, Mr. Fenkham himself.
But you can't give up just because something is hard, or because no one seems to want you to do it! With enough grit, determination, and reckless disregard for others, you can accomplish anything! Particularly if you're willing to bargain away your soul and the souls of others! Were there times I thought about giving up? Well, no, there weren't, actually. When something means as much to you and Mr Fenkham's work does to me, then there's nothing that can stop you. Nothing.
I hope that you enjoy the stories in this collection. Perhaps they will inspire you, as they have inspired me. They might not inspire you to commit quite as many felonies or perform as many diabolic rituals, but that's alright. What matters is that you enjoy Mr. Fenkham's stories and read as many of them as you can before the sky is torn asunder and a host of demons arrives to consume all that you know and love.
So get reading!
