Of all of the questions I would have for the writer, the biggest one is "When the heck did Marcus go insane?" We're led to believe that they've been rotating elders every 100 years for a while, and Marcus was supposed to be the one woken up when Amelia went dormant - this is because in the first movie Selene wakes up Viktor early, and Kraven says he was woken up "100 years early." So that means that they were going to wake up Marcus expecting him to be a sane, rational guy who didn't go off and immediately try to unleash his insane brother on the world. Poor planning on the vampires' part, I guess. My second question would have to be what was Marcus actually hoping to do? He raved about creating a new race, but I'm not sure how he planned to do that. If he just wanted hybrids he should have been delighted to meet Michael. The whole story just made no sense, and didn't seem to build well on the events established in the first one.
