Earth Day, art, etc.
Apr. 22nd, 2003 01:54 amIn honor of Earth Day, I am going to take a break from my usual activities that can be harmful to our beloved planet. I will refrain from activating my device designed to crash the moon into the Earth. I will not attempt to extinguish the sun with my mind. Finally, I will not try to awaken Great Cthulhu.
I spent Monday evening crafting unimaginable horrors for my Exalted game. Actually, I guess I fell short and created imaginable horrors, because I successfully created them. Wait, come to think of it, I only made one horror. I'm such a failure! Waaaaa!
Anyway, I worked on some art stuff, which is good. Must practice continuously. Must give life meaning. Must start writing complete sentences.
Seriously though, it was good to get in some more practice and simultaneously get stuff done for Exalted. I know that I don't need an illustration for every NPC or monster that the players meet, but it's nice to have one ready once in a while. I think the visual cues help players form better memories of characters and parts of the story. It's great if it can help them remember plot-relevant details from session to session, which is usually pretty hard when sessions are at least two weeks apart. I'm sure the recaps help too, but I'll take anything I can get to make the game flow better. Hopefully it makes the game more like a continuous story, and less like a disjointed set of individual sessions.
