NaNoWriMo: Conclusion
Nov. 30th, 2004 05:17 amI'm done for the year. No, I didn't manage a full 50,000 words, but I did manage my revised goal of 25,000. I made it to 25,501, and about 5000 of those words were written in the last two days. If I'd started on time with better preparation, I might have been able to write at that pace for most of the month and have met the full goal of 50,000. That's good to know for next year.
I can tell that my frustrations with my novel are really starting to wear upon me, and it's time to take a break. Also, I miss art. I've barely touched my graphics pad all month, and I'm looking forward to starting work on some art projects in the next few days. Maybe I can try NaNoWriMo again next year with more preparation done in October. I do plan to try to finish my current book, too, but I really need a break, if only for a few days at least. I'm sure this book will be longer than 50,000 words when it's done. I have plenty of scenes left to write, and still haven't added anything that I would consider 'filler.'
