Intro for brigits_flame community

I am a sentient lifeform composed primarily of oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen. I have bilateral symmetry and reside in an enclosed structure where I subsist almost entirely on food.

Whew, I never thought I'd be able to open up about myself that much on the internet. This is a real breakthrough for me!

When not bearing my soul on the internet like this, I work as a freelance artist ( http://hwango.deviantart.com/ ), care for my army of cacti and succulents, play various roleplaying games and eurogames, and work to awaken Cthulhu and/or pull the moon into the earth.

I thought this activity would be fun because I have fond memories of another writing project a friend of mine launched. He gave each participant the same list of five elements, and we all wrote a piece of short fiction that included those five things. It was interesting to see the variety of pieces that resulted.

WALL-E

It was cute. There's lots of funny stuff, particularly things directly involving the title character. However, I must confess myself disappointed by the overall story. There was stuff in there that I considered to be lazy storytelling - elements that were included to make it easier to tell the story, but which made no sense or required more explanation for me to accept. I've come to expect good animation AND good storytelling from Pixar, and this one just didn't live up to the standards they'd set for the latter. It's fun to watch, but doesn't hold together well for me.
