I wake up irritable and confused - the sun is barely up and it's much too early. What's all that banging and crashing outside? Is something special happening today?

My brain still befuddled by sleep, I flinch when someone starts to pound on the door and shout at me.

"Wake up! The world is ending, and we're all going to go stand out on the lawn and watch the planet disintegrate around us! Come on, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!"

Oh, is that all? I pull the blankets over my head and try to get back to sleep.
