Well, here's my accomplishment for the evening. Not sure I'm done with this, just that I'm done with it for tonight anyway.

It's for the 7th Sea fanset card "The Glowing Staff." I thought drawing just a glowing staff would be sort of dull, so I went for this instead. Feedback requested.

Update! - replaced the prototype with a more finished version of the picture...feedback still welcomed, though.

For serious feedback, the lighting on the face is odd... looks like he's in a cave instead of on the high seas. Can you add a mellow sunset light source somewhere off screen, like above the reader.

I was sort of going for a more cave-like background, since I wanted the only significant lighting to be the staff. I figure if you can see the ocean behind him, then there has to be an awful lot more light. There's precedent in the game for something like this - exploring Syrneth ruins and stuff. I'll see if I can fix the lighting on the face, though.

My dad's computer is making a high pitched noise in the background that makes for a nice lightsaber-esque sound effect. It goes nicely with your picture.
