I got run over by imaginary plankton earlier today. It made me sad until I realized that it couldn't really have happened, since imaginary plankton are imaginary, and can't have run me over.

A couple of hours ago I finished reading "Wolf's Head, Wolf's Heart" by Jane Lindskold. Not bad. I enjoyed it for the most part, but I thought the ending was a bit rushed, and it seemed like some of the characters and plot points were left hanging without resolution...but I guess that's what the next book is for. The first book also left a lot unresolved, but did so with a much better sense of closure, such that a sequel would be welcome but neither forced nor required. This time, we clearly need a sequel in order to resolve certain issues.

I had originally planned to buy the softcover of WHWH, but then had an opportunity to check it out of the library instead, which is a welcome way to save money. I don't object to buying books, but it's nice to take advantage of the library when I can. I might pick up the softcover later anyway, for future re-reading.

While I was waiting for the softcover to be printed (which apparently happened some time ago while I wasn't paying attention) the author wrote the sequel, "The Dragon of Despair." I was a little thrown by the title when I first found out what it was, since it seems to have broken the wolf theme, but it makes a bit more sense after reading WHWH. I've added myself to the wait list for it at the local libary. I suppose I should try to make good use of my time before it becomes available, since the last one monopolized rather a lot of my time.

I should go hide from the imaginary plankton before they find me and bury me in the sandbox.
