When friends let you down...
So, it's been kind of a crappy week. Mostly it's been little things - I wasn't feeling well for opening day of the local ice cream stand, we're trying to figure out if the brush painting class really starts at the time we think it does and the art center isn't answering our calls our emails, trying to figure out if it's worth picking up cards for the L5R pre-release even if I can't stay to play because IT'S SCHEDULED THE SAME DAMN DAY AS THE CLASS AFTER ALL, and so on. I tried to head out to see
kaiwoklaw tonight and possibly stop by the SFS board game night to see about my prize for the writing contest and maybe check out a game for possible random gaming on Sunday since we probably can't play our regularly scheduled game. However, my brakes aren't working well, and it looks like the reason for that might be the brake fluid leaking all over the driveway. So that ruined my plans for the evening...and parts of this weekend, since now I can't even drive to the L5R tournament to buy cards, let alone play in it. I'll need a ride on Sunday, too. Left with nothing else to do tonight, I called up my friend Tom who lives down the street right now and asked him if he was busy, or if he might be interested in stopping by and caving in my head with a shovel. Wouldn't you know it - he's too tired to do that right now. Damn it, you think of someone as a friend, and when you really need them to be there for you when the straw breaks the camel's back, they go and tell you that they're too tired. He's off my Christmas card list.
