Gencon vs rocks

hwangoWhat is it this year with gaming vs rocks? The release tournaments for Dissension conflicted with the Topsfield show, and I found out a couple of weeks ago that Gencon conflicts with the Springfield show. That really sucks. Unfortunately, it's not worth coming back a day early or anything so that I could go to Springfield on Sunday. I'd actually have to miss parts of Saturday to do it, and I'd probably be a semiconcious zombie at the rock show the next day anyway...to say nothing of the fact that I'd have to cancel part of my hotel reservation, suck up the cancellation fee, and hope that they didn't screw up and cancel me out completely. Besides, Sunday last year was when they were handing out extra free stuff, and I'd hate to miss that.
I really did try to figure out if I could pull off going to both somehow, though. The Springfield show is awesome, and is where we tend to get our most impressive pieces. It's also sort of traditional for my mom and I to go, but not as much as Topsfield. Topsfield was always just the two of us because my dad had an engine show that same weekend (and still does, even though it moved its date a few years back).
I'm only just getting to posting about this now because last week I made the final decision regarding the whole mess and officially bought my plane tickets to get to Gencon. So, it's also officially time to start freaking out about that. Must go craft art to justify trip.
