Earlier this evening, my favourite companion and I attended a nearby cinema so that we could view the new photoplay, 9. We had a delightful time in spite of the shocking disarray in which we found the theatre. Our showing was sparsely attended, though perhaps that was inevitable considering the lateness of the hour.
...so, yeah, during the credits, in the place that I'm used to seeing a movie referred to as a "motion picture," 9 is called a "photoplay." I found this greatly amusing. Also amusing to me is that someone who worked on the movie is named Zebulon Pike. I can only assume it's not the original Zebulon Pike, since he died in 1813. Unless they reanimated famous explorers as zombies to work on the film. Which seems cool but impractical.
