Strawberries

hwangoPick-your-own strawberry season has begun. My mom and I set out Sunday morning for the first day of picking, and were actually their first customers of the year. This may in part be due to the fact that were there about 40 minutes before they officially opened. We know the owner, though, so he let us in to start picking anyway. We got 4 heaping boxes plus whatever we could fit on top of them in about an hour of picking. These are the best strawberries you can get as far as I'm concerned - fresh from the field and not refridgeratred, plus this particular variety that's available now (Red Jewel or something) has the best flavor. They spoil me for strawberries, though - the ones you buy from the store don't taste like much of anything by comparison.
