So, I learned of the minicity thing from qedrakmar's journal, and decided to start my own city. I was dismayed to learn that, naturally, all the best names are taken. Arkham, Dunwich, Innsmouth, New Crobuzon, Dystopia, and all the others that I intially tried for have already been snatched up. In the end I decided to plant the seeds of eventual mi-go conquest, and put down a settler for:

I see that you too decided to settle in Canada.

So far the most amusing thing I've seen among the cities is that Dystopia is pretty well populated, and people are doing exactly what I'd do with it - flood it with people, but never do anything about crime or pollution. Lots of the status messages indicate disatisfied citizens leaving in misery. Tee hee.
