Buried Treasure

Last night, I began a mad quest to burrow through the dunes of crap in my room to find some specific comics. Mostly I was looking for my full run of Ostrander/Mandrake's Spectre, but I also hoped to find Little Gloomy and Halo and Sprocket. The first was most likely in an actual comic box and I was pretty sure I knew where it was, but the latter two were mysteriously missing, and not where I thought they'd be.
After many hours, I was victorious on all counts. Halo and Sprocket turned out to be nowhere near the pile of junk I was searching through, and was in fact within easy reach the whole time. Spectre was just where I thought it would be, and Gloomy I found while digging for it.
I found some stuff I'd forgotten about while searching boxes though. Among them, the early issues of Elementals that I own. I looked at the cover and the author and thought "Wait, isn't that...no, it can't be the same guy." But it is - I had no idea Bill Willingham of Fables had written Elementals in the way back when. Freaky. Since I've been enjoying the Fables collections (as they become available through interlibrary loan), I'm tempted to re-read Elementals. For now I put it back in the box and out of reach, since I don't have to time to be reading too many different things.
