I can definitely sympathize. The first time I ever tried Bennigan's it took over 45 minutes just to get the appetizers. Apparently they had seated a party of 54 people. It took at least two hours for us to get out of them. We didn't get much for hour inconvenience either.
There's an Irish pub near north station wherein I've gone an hour without seeing a waitress at all! (Believe me I was looking since they're all cute Irish chicks complete with accents.) There wasn't a large party present but since we were just hanging out it didn't matter so much.
