Nov. 28th, 2003 03:33 amWell, it was a fairly typical Thanksgiving. I woke up early and bounded down the stairs to the fireplace. There, I found that the sock I had nailed to the mantle the previous night was full of turkey and cranberry sauce. Wait. I think I might be confused, here.
Ah, yes, now I remember. I slept late, eventually crawled out of bed, got cleaned up, and then went downstairs to make stuffing. I'm really not certain why it's my job every year to make the stuffing. I don't even eat any of it. I suspect that it's because it's fairly straightforward, and it's one less thing that mom needs to make if I do it.
Anyway, then we consumed turkey and turkey-related food. Then I helped mom make sugar cookies - this year we made turkeys, maple leaves, baby ducks, tiny men, and volkswagon beetles. We have a rather interesting collection of cookie cutters. After that, I was free to go read for a few hoursbefore we departed for the house inhabited by my grandparents and two of my uncles.
There, as we do every year, we made pizza for dinner. For the most part we confined ourselves to unusual shapes this year, and only one of the pizzas featured toppings like mango and ham. I made a fish, because I was hungry and didn't feel like spending a lot of time making something really complicated.
After pizza, my brother and a few uncles went to watch the Invader Zim "Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom," since I'd forgotten to bring it on Halloween. There was a short delay during which my brother left and one of my uncles went to attend to some other matter, and then we watched the Invader Zim episode "The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever." Then, it was time to go.
I intended to spend the rest of the evening working on art, but got sidetracked by something fairly meaningless, so that's a bit of a disappointment. I think I'll eat something and then go sleep, and just try to work on art tomorrow, rather than further zombify myself staying up until 5:00 AM.
