L5R?

It would appear that the gaming convention I'm attending this weekend has added an L5R tournament to its list of events. Unfortunately, I haven't played L5R for months. There's a whole expansion that I've never played with at all, and another that I've played with only once, so I'm a bit out of practice and my decks aren't up to date. On the plus side, the tournament is free, so even if I suck at least I didn't throw away money to get hacked apart by rival samurai. On the down side, it starts at 9:00 AM. My sleep schedule lately has been something along the lines of 5:00 or 6:00 AM until about 1:00 or 2:00 PM, so I'm not sure how I'd do at getting up before 7:00 AM so I could drive very far away and then play a complex strategy game at which I am out of practice. = P

Plague of Locusts

...well, plague of fallen locust tree branches, anyway. We had the most adorable miniature apocalypse here today, with ridiculously high winds and some very enthusiastic lightning and thunder. One of the locust trees decided to celebrate by throwing a rather large branch at my car. What with the rain and lightning, we didn't go outside long enough to get it off the car, but we did make an exploratory venture out when the lightning appeared to subside for a bit to take a look at things. The car doesn't appear to have suffered any actual damage. Won't know for sure until we take a look in the daylight, though.

My car: the misfortune magnet.

The branch that fell on my car was bigger than I thought, and I have a small dent above my front passenger window. It could have been a lot worse if the branch had falled differently, though. At it's widest point it was 3.5 - 4 inches thick. If that end had hit the car instead of the middle, or if it had hit the windshield, I'd be looking at much more serious damage.
