When people talk about the myriad possible uses of nanotechnology there is one application that I feel is tragically overlooked. I believe that it could totally revolutionize sugary breakfast cereal. Imagine your breakfast if it were precision-crafted by microscopic robots...

Why eat that insufferable toucan's misshapen Froot Loops when you could have a tasty bowl of Mandelbrot Marmoset's Fruit Fractals? Frosted Flakes will be eclipsed by sugar-frosted Möbius Munchies. Lucky Charms will survive only by supplementing its marshmallow arsenal with Polychromatic Tesseracts.

The future is coming, and it will be part of this complete breakfast.

I would totally buy Mandelbrot Marmoset's Fruit Fractals! Especially if it had a picture of him on the box, kind of like Wheaties but for nerds. :)

I'm sold on it. Sign me up. When do they come out? Do they digest themselves for you, too?

Hah! This made me smile on a Monday morning at work. And want Froot Loops. It's funny, Froot Loops was the first thing I thought of for this week but couldn't find a good idea. I like this a lot!

Good luck in the polls this week! Look forward to reading more from you.

Haha! Very nice! Love the fruit fractals!

Instead of oatmeal though, do you have grey goo? *mischievous grin*

We totally need to make a mock-up of what the box looks like!

Hmm, that's a sort of unsettling idea. But hey, technology - it does unsettling things all the time, right? = )

Well I'm glad I could improve your Monday! I think my thoughts went something like "out of the loop, in the loop, race track, noose, jeweler's magnifying glass (damn, that's spelled differently), strangle cord, ...hey, how about Froot Loops!" So, yeah, it took me the long way around to get to breakfast cereal. = )

Hmm...I'm sure we can think of something interesting to do with oatmeal. I mean, as far as being interesting goes, there's really no place for oatmeal to go but up. = )

haha. Quite true! :)

Don't mind me, I'm just a nerd, with the grey goo thing. It's one of those bandied about apocalyptic theories that if self-replicating nanobots were ever created, they'd reduce the world to grey goo. ;)

Why does it have to be grey? Surely we can create brightly colored self-replicating robots. That way at least the post-apocalpytic wasteland will be a bit more colorful.

*grins* Agreed. Though, if brightly colored, wouldn't they still look a muddled grey, brown, or black from faraway? They are teeeny tiny after all. Perhaps purple bots.. Or lime green!
