When people talk about the myriad possible uses of nanotechnology there is one application that I feel is tragically overlooked. I believe that it could totally revolutionize sugary breakfast cereal. Imagine your breakfast if it were precision-crafted by microscopic robots...
Why eat that insufferable toucan's misshapen Froot Loops when you could have a tasty bowl of Mandelbrot Marmoset's Fruit Fractals? Frosted Flakes will be eclipsed by sugar-frosted Möbius Munchies. Lucky Charms will survive only by supplementing its marshmallow arsenal with Polychromatic Tesseracts.
The future is coming, and it will be part of this complete breakfast.

Date: 2010-08-17 05:14 pm (UTC)Don't mind me, I'm just a nerd, with the grey goo thing. It's one of those bandied about apocalyptic theories that if self-replicating nanobots were ever created, they'd reduce the world to grey goo. ;)
