When people talk about the myriad possible uses of nanotechnology there is one application that I feel is tragically overlooked. I believe that it could totally revolutionize sugary breakfast cereal. Imagine your breakfast if it were precision-crafted by microscopic robots...

Why eat that insufferable toucan's misshapen Froot Loops when you could have a tasty bowl of Mandelbrot Marmoset's Fruit Fractals? Frosted Flakes will be eclipsed by sugar-frosted Möbius Munchies. Lucky Charms will survive only by supplementing its marshmallow arsenal with Polychromatic Tesseracts.

The future is coming, and it will be part of this complete breakfast.

haha. Quite true! :)

Don't mind me, I'm just a nerd, with the grey goo thing. It's one of those bandied about apocalyptic theories that if self-replicating nanobots were ever created, they'd reduce the world to grey goo. ;)

Why does it have to be grey? Surely we can create brightly colored self-replicating robots. That way at least the post-apocalpytic wasteland will be a bit more colorful.

*grins* Agreed. Though, if brightly colored, wouldn't they still look a muddled grey, brown, or black from faraway? They are teeeny tiny after all. Perhaps purple bots.. Or lime green!
