The rocking of the ship gradually returned to normal, for which I was extremely grateful - the giant squid's last attack had nearly capsized us. Amid all of the shouting, cannon fire, and splintering wood no one seemed to be paying me even the least attention. Eventually, the squid seemed to get the message and it drifted away to the cheers of the crew.
Not the most auspicious start to a mission.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciated that it only wanted to rescue me from the humans that it assumed had taken me prisoner. But it almost blew my cover.
