So, the web site displays the current top 10 entries. Why then is one suddenly back that disappeared weeks ago? Unless the judges changed their minds about it, the only thing I can think of is that the person who submitted it submitted a new one to replace it, which the judges didn't put in the top 10, so they put back their original.

Of course, this makes me reconsider my strategy. I had thought they didn't want entries like the one that disappeared, since it was no longer in the top 10. Now, however, it's back, and therefor ranked higher than lots of entries that have been submitted since.

Also, there are 2 entries that just joined the top 10 that deal more with the whole 'cat' thing. I figured we hadn't seen any like that because they weren't what the judges wanted, not because they hadn't been submitted. Maybe it's the same with green - none of the top 10 have ever featured much of the color green, but now I don't know whether that means the judges don't like green, or that none of the people entering the contest like green. I have a lot to think about for my entry, and little time to do so.

I'm not entirely happy with the one that I just submitted. But now that I know I can try wackier things, maybe I can put in a better one in the next few days. I should give the one I submitted a few days to sit there and see if it makes the top 10, just in case the judges like it more than I do. Alas, that's the other frustration - seeing new ones in the top 10 today indicates that they just reviewed a batch, and I just missed the cutoff. Fooey.
