Update on the devouring rain

Got back from the movies tonight and went to check out the condition of the road. The level of the water has dropped, but there's now a gap about 6 feet across that has completely cut the road in half. The hole is at least 4 feet deep - hard to tell how much water there is in the dark without getting stupidly close. As we were approaching to check it out, another chunk of pavement broke loose and disappeared into the rushing water. I'll have to go get pictures tomorrow.
