The grand finale. I resumed work on my wolf, though I had to do it with a different set of pastels, since the instructor unfortunately forgot to bring the ones that I used last week. Oops. There are a couple of things I'm not entirely happy with, but I finally decided to call it done before I screwed it up in some way. The thing that bugs me the most is that I used too much pencil in the outline, and you can still see its reflection if you look at the picture from an angle. Also, it shows up glaring white when photographed with a flash. = ( I did a little retouching of the picture I took to reduce that glare. The colors might be a little off in this too. Still, here's the final version of the wolf on posterboard. That took about an hour and ten minutes, so I decided to use the rest of the class to start another one. I spraypainted my other pieces of posterboard earlier that afternoon in case I finished ahead of time, so I was prepared for this.

I hurried a lot, because I knew I wouldn't have access to the materials after tonight, but managed to get most of the way through drawing a West Coast Sea Nettle. I'm pretty happy with how it was going, so maybe I'll try to get ahold of some pastels and finish it up. People suggested that I sign up for the pastels class that starts up on the 19th. I'm thinking about it, even though I didn't care much for pastels at first. I had a lot more fun with them after working with them for a bit, and particularly when working on the jellyfish. That would be another $165, though, so it's not something I want to enter into lightly.

Sure, no problem. Alas, I don't have MSN or AIM, so we're stuck with email.
