It's time to renew the insurance for my metal box on wheels. It appears to have gone up, and so I thought I'd poke a bit at other companies to see if I'm getting screwed, or if the price I'm paying is fairly normal. I don't really expect to change companies, but I thought I'd check around anyway.

One of the sites that I poked at was Gieco, and I was stunned when I discovered that they don't actually offer car insurance in Massachussetts. If this is the case, then why do I keep seeing ads for them on Boston-based TV stations? What possibly reason can they have for advertising their services to an area in which they don't actually offer their services?

Wacky. Maybe it's for the people who commute from NH, CT etc. Do they get the Boston channels?
