Not that the idea of more bloodwork probably thrills you, but if they don't get a positive ID on this, you may want to have them test you for Lyme disease. The bullseye rash is the classic early stage symptom, but later stages are hard to distinguish from a nasty bought of the flu. The major add on on top is muscle and joint pain. With your recent bought of apparent carpal tunnel, it makes Lyme a more likely prospect. And it's not like it's not a common disease in the area...
Anyway, if they still didn't ID it, next visit, ask if they think it's Lyme. Despite being common, it's hard to ID because it mimics other problems.
