V for Vendetta
Mar. 17th, 2006 04:40 pmI liked it. I never read the graphic novel, though, so I have no idea if it's a horrible butchering of the story, or if the graphic novel was better, or anything like that.
I have only one real complaint, which is a major spoiler:
The tv ads pretty much give away the ending. What the hell? I complained to the friend with whom I saw the film that it would be like the tv ads for Lord of the Rings showing how the One Ring is destroyed. What the hell were they thinking?
Actually, I know what they were thinking. They were thinking: if we mention the creators of the Matrix Trilogy and show knives and guns and stuff blowing up, people will flock to this movie and make us lots of money." Pity they didn't advertise the movie for what it really is. I still would have gone to see it, and probably enjoyed it even more.

Date: 2006-03-25 12:00 am (UTC)I was more disappointed that the "shaving her head" scene was spoiled for me, and that it wasn't voluntary. I was under the impression for some reason that Evey had to shave her head to go in disguise or something, but was still unhappy about it.
