Carcassonne - New Largest City Record
Apr. 11th, 2006 02:26 amLargest City: 38 Tiles, 138 points. Included 5 Grain, 3 Fabric, and 6 Barrels, all of which are over the 50% mark, so that's guaranteed all 3 Goods on top of the 138 points for the city itself...and almost certainly guaranteed King. Why did I get all of this? My theory is that my opponent couldn't count properly.
Both of us had all of our men deployed - 2 farmers each, and then me with all of my remaining guys in the city, and him with all but 1 guy in the city, and the other guy on a road. The smart thing for him to do would be to put a great deal of effort into making certain that city was never finished, and just use his remaining guy to score all of the rest of the points for the game while I sat back and did nothing productive whatsoever. Instead, he actively helped finish the city...either he thought it was going to be split 50/50 and wanted his guys back, hoped to place the last tile and claim King and the Goods, or something like that. I can't believe he'd help finish it knowing that I'd get the 100+ points, even if he was hoping to get 30 points from Goods and the usual 20 or so points from King from it. That just doesn't make sense to me.
