My Human Disguise is Failing

On Saturday, I saw a 2-year-old kid running amok with a big smile on his face, laughing like crazy. Everything made this kid happy. Then he wandered over towards me, and I smiled and said hello. His smile collapsed and was replaced by a look of pure horror, and I thought for a second he was going to cry. Then he turned away, took two steps, started smiling again, and ran off to chase some more balloons.

Clearly, the kid is unnaturally perceptive, and could somehow percieve my true form or something.
