Mmm...rocks.

While I'm waiting to hear back if my latest piece for Rage needs more attention or is finally done, I thought I'd get started on my next project, which is a new set of landscapes. My other series of landscapes is almost 2 years old, and I figure it's time to make some new ones. I'm thinking I'll once again loosely base them on the land types in M:tG, but I might drift a bit further afield this time.
Tonight I started work on the "mountain." Last time, I started with the mountain because I figured it was going to be the easy one...no water, no high-detail trees, etc. This time, I'm starting with the mountain because I had this cool idea that I worked on for about half an hour before I realized it was horribly similar to a mountain illustration from Shadowmoor. Oops. So I started over with a new concept, which is...a little wacky. Remember my Highly Unlikely Rocks from last time's Island? Yeah, that sort of thing again. I'm having fun with it, though.
