The coolest house in the world
Jun. 8th, 2003 02:18 amWell, maybe not the coolest in the world - I heard Dave McKean lives in a house with all round rooms - but definitely the coolest house I've ever actually been inside. ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
kaiwoklaw and I went to a housewarming party for some friends who now live in a house shaped like a giant arrow, pointing North. If that's not odd enough, the architect apparently felt that the cheapest way to get huge glass windows was to put in huge sliding glass doors. This means that there are big windows, but it also means that there are several doors that go NOWHERE. There are many places in the building that you can open a door, step through it, and fall a story or two onto the lawn. Not a good house for sleepwalkers.
It has a huge living room that's two stories tall, and people were suggesting that you could set up a trampoline in there. That would be wacky fun. Of course, people also suggested cargo nets, rope ladders, or slides leading from the open space on the floor above. I don't know if any of those ideas will actually be implemented, but the house is still wacky fun even if they aren't.
