What the heck - I've written a drabble (exactly 100 words) for every other week this month. May as well make it a complete set.

I'm not actually in a dark alley - I'm not that stupid. But it is late, and it is a bad part of town, so I do feel a little stupid.

My assailant is positively oozing the cocky menace of petty criminals everywhere. He's flipping a butterfly knife open and closed over and over, spinning it around his fingers while he says something about a toll for going down his street. I admit, seen up close in real life it's a pretty scary routine.

Until he goofs up his little trick and slices off his thumb. Then I can't stop laughing.

Thanks! I haven't actually seen "Face Off," but maybe the people who have will at least know what kind of knife I'm talking about. = )

Oh! Well, I suppose it could still be useful if they have a scene that shows how the knife opens and closes anyway. = )

Even with a hundred words, you bring a twist.

I tell you, I've done drabbles, and I think they are harder than you're making them out to be. You seem to have a flair for them. Once again, skillfully written. Every word is a winner!

Thanks! They really are interesting to write. I'll find that I have 108 words, realize I have to cut a sentence, discover that now I have 97 words and can afford a few more words for another sentence that could be better - they are neat little puzzles.

Nice!! Your drabbles have been great to read this month, hwango! I'm glad you decided to complete the set. :D I like the tone of this; the narrator just sounds so savvy and casual.

Thanks! Drabbles were fun, but I am hoping to write longer things next month. I miss dialog. = )

Thanks! Completing sets of things is just so satisfying. Somewhere in all the chaos of my brain is a tiny voice that likes neatness and order. = )
