"New" Toy

I am now the proud owner of a technologically obsolete digital camera. At the venerable age of 5 years, it would likely be scorned and mocked by any camera currently on the market. However, it has 2 very redeeming qualities: A) It was really cheap, and B) It's the only digital camera that I own. I've wanted a digital camera for ages, so I could do weird experimental things with Photoshop, take reference pictures for illustrations, and keep a record of how fast some of my plants are growing over time. This camera will do all of those things, all for a tiny fraction of what it cost me to get my car back from the mechanic last week. What more could I ask for?

That one's sort of a blessing and a curse - it means not much space for actually taking pictures, and dooms them to small file size. You're right, though - I love that it doesn't require me to string up cords or buy a miniature disk drive for memory cards.

Actually I think memory cards is one of the best things to happen to the digital cameras. They're FAST and BIG in memory but small in size.

I prefer them over the little CDs too.

Oh no, I completely agree that memory cards are awesome. But seeing as this was an economy purchase, I'm glad I didn't need to buy a drive for memory cards for this camera. Hence it being both a blessing and a curse.
