At last, a request was sent to the LJ userpics team for something that was neither animation nor just resizing or cropping. Even better, the user requested two wolf pictures! One white one howling at the moon, and one black one staring straight ahead with lightning and grey clouds in the background. I did the black one at 250 x 250 and then shrank it down to 100 x 100 for the actual user icon. That may not have been the smartest move, but I'm really happy with how the large version came out. Now I just wish I knew if the user liked them...no replies back, and they're not using them yet either.

This is only the second example I've seen of your hair work. (in this media anyway)

It looks awesome! It might just be the choice of coloring but I think this one comes off a bit more natural as the bearded guy. The eyes are cool too. (^_^)

The nose looks nice and soft too.

Have you tried doing anything more cartoonish? Like a Penny-arcade sort of thing?

I wouldn't be surprised if the person is not grateful. They'll probably assume you plucked it off the web or something. ;)

Thanks. = ) Haven't done much in the way of cartoonish stuff. My usual style seems to be somewhat comic/cartoonish anyway, so I'm usually striving for as much realism as I can. Fid was kind of odd - I wanted to make him look a bit disheveled, so I tried out that style for the hair. Probably wouldn't do that for many other pictures, but I thought it looked okay there.

As far as the guy being grateful or not, I'd just like to hear from him to see if he even got my emails.
