My tiredness, it is like a living thing all its own. It haunts me.

Saw the Animation Show again this weekend with [livejournal.com profile] kaiwoklaw, Laura, and Chris. Very happy for Laura and Chris - Chris has given Laura a Shiny Rock of Signifigance. Yah for them! Animation Show was entertaining again. Once again, some were good and some weren't - the ones I didn't like didn't get any better with another viewing. Billy's Balloon wasn't quite as funny the second time around, but that may also have been because there wasn't as positive a reaction from the rest of the crowd as when I first saw it. Rejected still made me laugh until I was having trouble breathing, though. The Intro, Intermission, and Ending were also hilarious the second time around. Vincent, The Cathedral, Das Rad, and the excerpt from Life on Mars were other favorites.

A happy belated Parsley Day to you all - it was on Sunday. Parsley Day is about as old as Horned Lizard Day, I think. I know for certain that I brought parsley to school during my senior year of high school, at least. I remember my calculus teacher walking around the class talking about calculus, stopping at my desk, picking up a piece, and asking "is this parsley?" I replied that it was. He nodded, put it back, and went back to what he was talking about. Then he came back over a little later and talked about parsley for a bit. It was nifty.

Another memorable Parsley Day took place when I worked at Navipath. My first day at Navipath was on Parsley Day, actually, but I didn't think it would be a good idea to celebrate it my first day on the job. However, the next year I felt secure enough to do so, and brought some in. The Chief Information Officer happened to walk past my cube and ask why I had a bunch of parsley. He was normally a rather intimidating figure at the company, but I felt that I had done nothing wrong and had nothing to fear from the truth and so I told him that it was Parsley Day. I may have explained about the calendar to him as well. He quite approved of parsley, and seemed fine with the whole thing. Others at the company were amused as well. It wasn't as popular as Chocolate Day (Oct 22), but that might be a bit much to ask.

Hung around after Sunday's game until 4:30 AM chatting with people. The time does fly. I think I've eaten enough food that I won't stay awake listening to my stomache devour my other organs, so I'm finally heading off to sleep.

So...I'm not sure how to say this in the most diplomatic way, so I'll just be blunt - if you comment in the future, could you please not use an icon featuring nudity? That's not something I want to see when I look at my comments page.
(deleted comment)

That's a shame.

You know, I was afraid I'd get a reply like that.

I'm not in any way suggesting that you not use the icon on your own journal, or that it's not a legitimate piece of art. All I asked was that it not appear on my journal. I have strong feelings about nudity's place in art. That particular piece doesn't happen to match up with my opinions. I'm sorry if that makes you think that I'm closed-minded. I didn't think that my message was rude, either. It was honest and to the point, but it was still a request, not a command.

As far as the parsley subject goes, it's just because it was a reply to your comment that mentioned parsley in the subject and I didn't think to change it. I found your comment itself delightful, by the way, and it will be a pity not to see any more like it. Farewell.
