I've decided to take the Pastels class. It was a near thing, but I finally decided that the potential gains outweigh the cost and time requirements. However, the decision was almost taken out of my hands - I called to sign up, and for a moment they thought that it was full. Now, the course brochure advises people to sign up quickly before classes fill up, but I pretty much thought that was to convince people to sign up early so the school would know if they even had enough people to run a class. I had heard a lot about classes that didn't run due to lack of students, so it seemed inconceivable that one would actually fill up. Oops. However, there turned out to be one empty slot, so I made it in. Now I just need some paper.
