So far, I'm enjoying it. The acting has been excellent, the story interesting, and I think there's a lot of story left to tell. I expect, however, that it is Too Weird for most viewing audiences, and that only two more episodes will air before it is scrapped. It would be nice to be wrong about this.

edit - Wow, I meant that I wanted to be wrong in that I wanted the network to air more than 2 more episodes. I don't know if we'll even get that. Apparently the premier came in 4th in its time slot with only 6 million viewers, and actually lost viewers between the start and the end. Ouch.

It's good then? I thought the commercials made it look like, "90210 douchebag characters with a Monarchy backdrop." Aside from having the awesome guy from Deadwood it didn't seem very interesting - and I forgot to TiVo it anyway. Maybe it's not to late to Hulu or find it Elsewhere.

The first slew of ads I saw looked exactly like the ones you described, and I planned to ignore the show completely. Then I heard a little more about it and saw a more interesting ad and figured I'd at least give it a try to see which ad campaign was more accurate. The first two episodes dealt more with personal drama and some political intrigue than anything I would think of as 90210ish. Ian McShane is very awesome as the king. There's some other good acting in it to, and I thought the pilot set up a lot of hooks for interesting future stuff.

I forgot to record the pilot, and had to watch it on Hulu, but I'm glad that I did. I'd say it was worth giving it a try - if you already hate it halfway through the pilot you can give up with relatively little time wasted. Without commercials the whole 2-hour pilot is only 1 hr 27 minutes anyway. Or you could wait and see if we actually get more than 2 episodes. = P
