I finally went to doctor for my hand - it was getting worse, not better. The current theory is carpal tunnel. I've got an annoying ace bandage wrapped around my hand right now, and I'm supposed to go get a brace tomorrow. Would carpal tunnel really explain why my whole arm is sore, though?

It could explain why. Maybe you should look into ergonomic solutions for your computer area? Is it your drawing hand or mousing hand? I forget if you're sinister or not.

Mouse and drawing (right). Using the mouse is the activity that hurts the most. I probably need a friendlier-shaped mouse.
