It's Horrible! It's the Plague! It's Horrible Death Plague Version 3.0! Experience the fever! Thrill to the wheezing cough, the muscle aches, the general lack of energy yet inability to sleep, and a wide variety of other mysterious symptoms! Experience the drama as you visit the doctor and the nurse takes some of your blood! Delight in the wound left behind by this process that makes it look like they used a plastic drinking straw with the end crinkled up! Laugh at the irony as they fail to get your blood to divulge the information that they wanted from it. Cry "What did that butcher do to my arm?!" when you get home and look under the bandaid! You will be on the edge of your seat in anticipation as you periodically check your temperature to make sure your fever doesn't hit 103, in which case you get to run screaming to the emergency room! Yeah! It totally rocks! Try it today!

Thanks. The thing that bugs me the most in some ways is the blood thing. I don't know if they screwed up or were just bad at it, but I've had blood taken many times before and never had such a huge mark or so much pain. It's always crappy when you feel worse after visiting the doctor.

Not that the idea of more bloodwork probably thrills you, but if they don't get a positive ID on this, you may want to have them test you for Lyme disease. The bullseye rash is the classic early stage symptom, but later stages are hard to distinguish from a nasty bought of the flu. The major add on on top is muscle and joint pain. With your recent bought of apparent carpal tunnel, it makes Lyme a more likely prospect. And it's not like it's not a common disease in the area...

Anyway, if they still didn't ID it, next visit, ask if they think it's Lyme. Despite being common, it's hard to ID because it mimics other problems.

Hmm, an unsettling thought. I'll bring that up if I'm in there again.

In our region Lyme is rather common desease, we struggle it succesfully with strong antibiotics. So you can heal it as the ordinary flu and it helps. The process is just a week or two longer.
